A New Hope Instead of a New Wall

Is there an alternative to building a wall along the U.S./Mexico border?
Immigrants; A New Hope

Concerns grow as the looming idea to build a wall along the U.S./Mexico border becomes the new reality. What should the United States do to protect itself? Build a wall that stops immigrants from crossing the border? Reinforce the law by stepping up the removal of immigrants? Or should the United States create a new hope for residents (nearing 11 million) that are living in its' borders illegally?

Most of us know that President Trump campaigned to build a wall along the border. Keeping to that promise, the next step is picking out the style in which the wall will be built; even though illegal border crossings are down 76% due to immigration enforcement.

To remove those who have been living here for years illegally? To not accept the hundreds of thousands who have been in the DACA program? Is the removal of illegal immigrants the right thing to do? Or is putting them on a fast plan to citizenship the next answer? "In the 100 days since President Trump signed an executive order to enhance immigration enforcement, the arrests of undocumented immigrants is up 38%" https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2017/05/17/deportations-under-president-trump-undocumented-immigrants/101786264/

http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/11/politics/trump-administration-deportations/index.html "Between Trump taking office on January 20 and March 13, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 21,362 undocumented immigrants and deported 54,741 people." (Numbers vary) Is there no alternative other than deportation to those who just want a stable income and want to cherish American culture? Is there no way of opening the hearts of United States citizens to help these immigrants assimilate to their new society? "Between 1886 and 1924, almost 14 million immigrants entered the United States through New York."
https://www.nps.gov/stli/learn/historyculture/the-immigrants-statue.htm Shouldn't the same respect be given the neighbors of United States? Here's a proposal. Instead of building a wall, aren't the citizens of the United States inclined to make sure new inhabitants are given the same rights and opportunities; should there be a new Statue of Liberty built along the border to accept those coming, rather than creating a cage to keep them out?
